Jullian Kolstee

YOUR voice on city council this October

About Me

I'm a 35 year old son of immigrants from Chile and the Netherlands, partner to a filmmaker and multi-talented artist, Sinéad, and orange cat dad to Bernie. Growing up in North Vancouver my father Anton was a musician and teacher, and I was a neurodivergent student at Westview, Carson Graham, and Capilano University. Along the way I became an advocate and leader in the community, an improvisational theatre coach and performing artist, and a culture strategist for an international medical device manufacturer.

Public service has always been important to me and my family. As a child my father was brain injured and my mother struggled to provide for my brother and I working odd jobs and stretching his teacher's pension. Were it not for labour unions, non-profits, public education, public health, and the volunteerism and generosity of this community, my family and I would not be here.

My mother Maribell, my partner Sinéad, and I all continue to make our home here in the City of North Vancouver, despite the fact that we struggle to afford to live here. I am running to make sure that all the folks who have dedicated their lives to this community continue to be able to live and thrive here now and into the future.

I hope you will all support my campaign to serve as councillor for the City of North Vancouver.

  • “Vote for Jullian because he’s an all-star person with a lot of passion who’s done so much for the community and we don’t have enough youth perspective on council. … We need more for the youth. For the young people who have it tougher today. It’s tougher paying your rent, paying the cost of food, all those things. We want to make sure we get people like [Jullian] elected on council to really deliver that message. We need new energy, enthusiasm, and passion for those in our community. And I know he’ll do it.”
